2 Corinthians 4:7 says: "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." This is a great reminder that as I spend my time doing pre-college training (PCT) with my church, that I am like a polystyrene cup (modern day equivalent of a jar of clay - weak, fragile), but God and his gospel is the one that is the treasure. Its also coincidental that imprinting my teeth marks onto a polystyrene cup is an enjoyable pastime of mine.

Teach what is in accord with sound doctrine

So begins Titus 2:1-10, the passage I had the privilege of preaching from at St James Church, Lane Cove last Sunday. I really enjoyed preaching from this passage - it was probably the first sermon I had given to adults who weren't peers. I had only met a few of the people who attend St James the previous week, so the audience was almost foreign to me as I stood behind the pulpit! (kind of a good thing!)

Apart from that, got some good feedback from Pete on Thurs about things that went well and things that could be better.

Overall, I think next time I have the chance to write a sermon, I'll consider trying to write it all the way through rather than leaving the intro, writing the body and then coming back to the intro. By doing it from start to finish, it means that the sermon will be a bit more connected and flow better.
